Schedule trims for your hair every 6-8 weeks. (1/2 inch is preferred)

Stay away from tight hairstyles that cause tension on your hair. Where you hair down if you can or pull it back into a low ponytail and don't wrap the hair tight.
Reduce hair exposure to friction to certain fabrics which will cause split ends. (wear your hair up if you wear fur, and wool.)
Use good products for your hair type and use sulfate free shampoo and products that contains alcohol in them. (stick to natural products specifically designed to your hair type)
Carefully select the perfect hair tools to use. (invest in salon quality tools)
Quality hairbrushes should be a part of every girls hair closet. (firm/ gentle brush)
Color your hair only when needed and do not overuse products.
Protect your hair at night by brushing your hair before bed with a wide tooth comb or a brush. (brush from root to ends to detangle and spread your scalp's natural oils throughout your hair.
Use scrunchies instead of the elastic bands especially at night. (wear hair in a top knot bun)
Wrap your hair with a silk scarf or sleep on silk sheets/ pillowcases. (cotton pillowcases causes friction which causes damage to natural hair)
cover your hair when showering for protection. (less heat will have to be applied to the hair)
